Access SP opens NAVE - “Center for the Reception and Enhancement of Education”

December 7, 2017

Last month, October 2017, Access SP in partnership with local Capão Redondo partners, deployed its first education and support center in the Capão Redondo community

The center's mission is to train vulnerable children in the Capão Redondo community, reinforcing the public education they receive in local public schools (for those who attend). However, our main goal is to better prepare and expose them to be leaders in their communities and great global citizens - to teach the arts of poetry, music, agriculture, history, painting, cinema, linguistics and politics. Access SP and NAVE strongly believe that it is with innovative methods that we build stronger families and give better opportunities for children in these vulnerable communities. It is through these alternative methods that we believe we are able to keep them off the streets of danger, crime and drug abuse and, together with them, build the culture of peace that they all seek.

Here are some of the PROJECTS AND WORKSHOPS that we are implementing at NAVE:

LITERACY PROJECT Our proposal is not only to teach children grammar, but to interpret the world around them.

SCHOOL SUPPORT Support and reinforcement for homework.

MUSIC WORKSHOP Construction of musical instruments with recycled material and classes with volunteer teachers.

RECYCLING WORKSHOP Arouse interest in the valorisation of solid waste and stimulate creativity.

KITCHEN WORKSHOPS The task is to teach about the origin of food and its full usefulness.

ART WORKSHOPS Being involved with art improves self-esteem, the mind becomes more independent and helps children and teenagers to better understand their world.
